I always had a sense that I would become a public speaker.

I had no idea that I would be deaf.

“I realised what silence means. What it actually means. Not what my hearing self of yesterday had imagined it might mean.”
— Still Emily

I regularly go into schools to take assemblies or run writing workshops. Frequently, among other subjects, I am asked to address, topics dealing with communication, disability, being valued and dealing with loss. I am also a freelance consultant with De Montfort University’s Health and Life Sciences departments.

I have been the key note speaker at Conferences within the book-trade and Christian events and have spoken at European and World wide medical conferences, from a lived experience perspective.

I have been interviewed on Facing the Canon, Radio Leicester, Premier Radio, TBN, other independent radio stations and podcasts.
