Known

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Know Fully

Will you let yourself know Me?

Will you know Me as your Rock, holding you steady?

Even when the storm is raging, I will hold you –

Will you let yourself be held?

Will you know Me as your Fortress, surrounding you?

However much things close in on you, I’m closer –

Will you let yourself remember the truth of that?

Will you know Me as your Stronghold, giving you security?

When things are uncertain, up in the air, you don’t know which way to take –

Will you let yourself lean on My strength?

Will you know Me as your Deliverer, helping you find release?

When emotions and thoughts build up inside you, I will calm you –

Will you let yourself rest in My peace?

Will you know Me as your Refuge, keeping you safe?

When you need to run away and hide, I’m here –

Will you let yourself hide in Me?

Will you know Me as your Shield, protecting you?

When you feel as though you are struggling alone –

Will you let yourself hold on to Me?

Will you know Me as your Salvation, giving you freedom?

However trapped you feel, you always have a way out –

I Am that way.

Will you let yourself know Me?

These two things cannot change. God cannot lie when he makes a promise, and he cannot lie when he makes an oath. These things encourage us who came to God for safety. They give us strength to hold on to the hope we have been given.

Fully Known

You are fully known.

Will you let Me know you?

Will you dare to say, ‘you love me, don’t you?’

And believe Me when I reply ‘yes’?

You are fully known

And I will always say yes.

Will you let Me know you when you’re scared?

I know your fears.

You are fully known.

Will you let Me know you when you’re happy?

I know your joys.

You are fully known.

Will you let me know you when you’re overwhelmed?

I know your exhaustion.

You are fully known.

Will you let Me know you when you dread tomorrow?

I know your anxious thoughts.

You are fully known.

Will you let Me know you when you’re excited?

I know your delight.

You are fully known.

Will you let Me know you when you’re churned up inside?

I know your worries.

You are fully known.

Will you let Me know you when you think I won’t want to know you?

You are fully known.

And in that fullness of knowing, I choose you.

In everything and every time, you are precious in my sight, and I love you.

Will you dare to say, ‘you love me, don’t you?’

And believe Me when I reply ‘yes’?

You are fully known

And I will always say yes.

You are fully known.

Will you let Me know you?

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
